I received the MSc and DSc degrees in mathematics from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, in 1999 and 2005, respectively. Afterwards I went abroad for two years, first visiting Columbia University, USA, and then Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica and Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. From 2008 onwards I have been affiliated with the Stochastics research group at Aalto University.
