Numerics for Space Dynamics
Geometric numerical integrators,
especially variational integrators, are ideal for numerical simulations
of spacecraft dynamics: they are accurate and efficient over long
periods of time, even when dissipative forces are included. A way to
generate these variational integrators to arbitrary order by means of a
computer algebra system is presented. In addition, a novel explicit
numerical scheme for multi-body problems, particularly space dynamics,
is discussed.
