The talk consists of ray acoustic modelling. The fundamental sound propagation equations with the necessary simplifications are presented. Three established ray-based acoustic modelling methods are introduced: image source method, radiosity method, and ray tracing method. Concluding, a general ray propagation theory is introduced with some considerations on the benefits of such unificative theory.
In the talk I attempt to give an introduction to the problematic nature of sound propagation modelling. The contents of the talk is largely based on my diploma work in progress.
