Simulations of 3D
rectangular silicon radiation detector cell in 2D and 3D
Abstract: The 3D detector
structures are a novel technology for
ionizing radiation detection. I will present 2D and 3D simulations of
3D rectangular and semi 3D detector cells. Simulations were carried
out with finite-element software ISE-TCAD. The results include
detector characteristics as leakage current, capacitance, breakdown
voltage and charge collection time. The 2D and 3D simulation results
are compared between each other and semi 3D structure simulation
results are compared with actual measurements.
