Numerical solution methods for Navier-Stokes -equations and their
applications in CFD-analysis
Abstract: The fluid flow and temperature field can be described with
Navier-Stokes- (NS) and energy equations, which describe the
conservation of mass, momentum and energy, respectively. These equations
form a system of nonlinear PDE, which can not be solved analytically in
a general case. However, the rapid developments in computational power
have allowed a large scale computational analysis to be evolved an
efficient tool for research and development. At the same time, the
commercial computational fluid dynamic (CFD) codes have became more user
friendly and more black-box type solver systems. In this talk, some
common numerical solution methods with examples for N-S- and energy-
equations, applied in CFD-analysis, are presented.
