Computational Room Acoustics Modeling and Auralization

Abstract:

This presentation gives an overview on the computational methods that have been applied to predict acoustics of rooms. The methods can roughly be divided into three categories; wave-based, ray-based, and statistical methods. The basics of different methods are presented and computational challenges related to each method is considered. Finally, auralization, i.e., rendering simulation results audible, is discussed.
