Sunada's theorem and the accompanying idea of "transplantation" due to
Bérard, Buser, and Zelditch have proven very fruitful in constructing
examples of isospectral manifolds and hence in understanding what
geometric properties are not spectrally determined. We will introduce
Sunada's method and transplantation and will survey some of the
examples that have arisen from these ideas.
